Reduces the amount of food and other items getting into the pipes (not had to call a plumber since having one). I have used it when I have had a disposal and now that I don't have a disposal, I use it in both sides if the sink. It catches everything and I tap it out in the trash can. So I decided to take a chance by ordering a name brand "KOHLER" from Amazon, and I'm glad I did! The faucet comes with stainless braided hoses attached, and all you need to do is to connect it to the 3/8" compression outlet, and tighten one base mount nut on the bottom, and that's it! very easy to install, and up and running in no time!
