I was very pleased. It is a little hard to attach, but once you get the hang of it not a big deal. One reason I like it better than the Cuisinart is that you can shred a really large quantity without emptying your bowl - just use a new one. I found my Kitchen Aid at a garage sale, believe it or not My older sister has always had one (since the early '70s) and I was somewhat envious of hers. Mine is so old it probably made food and bread for the builders of the Pyramids. I think it's Harvest Gold or some other horrible '70s color but from day one she's worked like a champ! This mixer is AMAZING! The motor is extremely powerful (although a little ear-piercing at the higher speeds) and the machine is super easy to clean. While I haven't made bread yet, the kneading hook did make short work out of a batch of seitan that I made from scratch a few weeks ago.
